Perfectly clear copper and bronze coloured body with a nice two to three centimetre tall off-white and tan head with one very small dashes of haze below. Aroma of alcohol, deep citrus fruit, bitter, dank hops with a lot of bitterness and a healthy bite of sweetness leftover - especially at the end. Full-bodied; Very rich, almost nutty malt flavours show at first with a crisp apricot and stone fruit flavour, but more pungent, dry hops then show up and leave a fairly complex, bittered bite at the end, all with astringent metal and alcohol noticeable. Aftertaste is rich, very deep, fairly dry, but showing a lot of range from fruits, to sugars, a lot of malt here, some dryness, but the bittering hops and strong alcohol notes stand out of course, as they should for an Imperial IPA. Overall, great to sample from a brewery I visited with my family on the trip, to enjoy this strong beer back here on the other end of the country, but still fresh and very enjoyable. A nice real Imperial IPA for sure, but there are a lot of these in the Pacific NorthWest. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 28-March-2021 for US$4,99, brewed in Batch #1214 on 17-March-2021, sampled back in [the real] Washington on 13-July-2021, my lucky day.

Sample during the Orange You Glad to CA Wave of IPAs? tasting on 05/22/2021. Clear copper-orange color with a medium bone white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Piney hop, citrus and malt aroma. Medium body with flavors of resiny hop, grapefruit and roast malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a piney hop aftertaste. Pretty good all around.
