Familiar flavors and aromas of vanilla from two different sources nicely complement this barrel-aged version of BORIS Imperial Stout. Vanilla-infused bourbon whiskey was first aged in these barrels, for a wonderful character. And the oak from the barrels imparts a vanilla-like character all its own, adding a depth and complexity that is immensely satisfying and memorable.

Sample during the Hoppin’ On Deck 4 tasting on 06/13/2020. Brown-black pour with a medium beige head that recedes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, malt and chocolate. Medium to full body with flavors of oaky vanilla, roast malt, bourbon and chocolate. The finish is oaky with a vanilla and bourbon aftertaste. Good beer all around.
