Aggressively dry-hopped, West Coast-style India Pale Ale with a freshness and balance that can only be found in a locally brewed beer. Its robust flavors sit on a rich base of malt, complimented by bracing bitterness, and the fragrant citrus, tropical fruit and pine aromas of some of our favorite American and Australian hops.

Bottle from Jason’s food hall, Kowloon. Poured a clear light golden colour with a big frothy white head. The aroma is malt, piney, light citrus fruits, light fake sugar, dry hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a crisp, fresh, grainy, mineral, citrus fruit, light pepper spice, dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle in Hongkong. Floral nose. The beer starts fresh and smooth. Not too complex, but nice hints of fresh hops. Moderate bitter, fresh floral, hints of citrus. Quite dry for the high ABV. Fresh and smooth but not too deep.

Nice crisp, very slightly hazy copper and bronzed coloured body with a single centimetre tall just off-white head and literally no carbonation when opened up from the bottle. Aroma of bread, yeast, earth, caramel, nuts and tons of cardboard. Medium-bodied; Very bready flavour with a good deal of yeast, cardboard, alcohol and a bit of pungent cereal flavours, all with some resin. Aftertaste shows the deep pungent malt, caramel and cereal notes that are of course coupled unfortunately with the yeast and bread. Overall, an unfortunately not good IPA that isn’t a very good beer in general with some deep pungent flavours that aren’t very nice, just a touch too deep and way too bready/yeastie. That said, to have an attempt at an IPA that was physically produced in the greatest city in the world is pretty neat - finally some of the British influence wore off on the city - perhaps some American influence can come next alongside all of the American attitudes and stores there. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from City!Super in Harbour City, Kowloon, Hong Kong on 02-July-2014 for HK$21,00 with the standard HK produced label, best before 15 June 2015. I brought this bottle back to the opposite side of the world and even though this wasn’t good at all, i’d do it again in a heartbeat!
