375ml can. Slightly cloudy, redd-ish, dark amber colour with average to huge, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white head. Minimally toasty and nutty, mellow malty and slightly resinous, piney and citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, hints of orange, mandarine, sweat, a touch of peanut. Taste is sweet-ish, minimally toasty and nutty, caramel malty and bitter, zesty, citrusy fruity as well as resinous and slightly piney, hoppy, notes of orange, orange peel, mandarine, marmalade, a touch of red berries, peanut, dark honey, pine needles; lingering, dry hoppy finish.
Oily-watery texture, smooth, soft and minimally greasy, simultaneously slightly dry palate, medium, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Well crafted, well hopped, balanced on a high level (sweet- and bitterness) - enjoyable.

Can from somewhere at home. Dark dark translucent ruby pour with foamy white head. Aroma is spicy earthy damp grassy hops with orange pith. Taste is grassy bitterness with sweet round malt with alcohol - very big and “red”. Palate is medium-heavy. Light carbonation with nice prickliness. Really good - highly recommend for a red ale.

Pours copper with a large lasting head.Nose shows pine, resinous hops, caramel, spicy hops, lychee and peach.Flavours include more resinous pine, a load of caramel and some brown sugar notes. Behind all that is a bit of fruit confectionery and a hint of hot booze.Carbonation is a bit over that top.

Can at the Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy dark amber with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is toffee caramel malt, big woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a rich, sweet toffee malt, light floral, dry hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation.

This is another great Phat Mongrel beer, with aromas of malt, grapefruit, honey, raisins and orange. There is grapefruit and intense pine in the mouth, plus spearmint, a little stone fruit and even a slight waft of coffee. The alcohol is very well hidden. A well made beer.

From a 375ml can on 19//2017. Pours a cloudy amber with a medium head. The aroma features sweet fruit with some hoppiness. The flavour features lots of caramel malt, some toffee, stone and citrus fruit, some rye and spice, and some big dry lingering hops. The texture is slick and the carbonation is moderate. A really tasty, hoppy amber ale.
