375ml can. Cloudy, yellow-ish, golden colour with average to huge, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Rather cautious, minimally perfumed, fruity, minimally piney, hoppy aroma without overly explicit fruit flavours, hints of melon, pineapple, lemon, grapefruit, lychee, minimally spicy, pale malty background with a touch of cracker, minimally zesty and even waxy overtones. Taste is bitter, fruity hoppy and slightly piney hoppy, pale malty basis with some residual sweetness, notes of yellow stone fruit, some mandarine, grapefruit, orange, melon, lychee, again not overly distinct nor explicit, rather interwoven, amalgamated, but way more intense fruit flavours; a dank, resinous basic layer throughout, lingering, bitter, leafy, zesty, hoppy finish with slow decrease of fruitiness.
Oily texture, dry, also slightly greasy palate, medium, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
A carpet of interwoven, rather undistinct, fruity hop flavours, dank, resinous framework, intense taste, relatively cautious nose, a bit of a hodge-podge - pretty decent.

Can at Paus Craft Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy light amber colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light tropical citrus, woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a fresh, crisp, malt, fruity, light pepper spice, hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

A beautifully balanced IPA that hides its alcohol well. Butterscotch aromas combine with grapefruit and honey. It’s well bodied and spreads a heap of pine needles and grapefruit across the tongue. Nice work.

From a 375ml can on 30/4/2017. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a big white foamy head. The nose is pleasant and fruity, with some tropical notes, and a hint of pine. Flavour wise, it begins with lovely sweet fruit, orange, apricot, peach and mango, with some honeyed notes, which is set off aginst a biscuit malt background. The hops are pretty firm and quite resiny. The body is full and the carbonation is average. Just a beautifully balanced, extremely well integrated IPA - tasty, moreish and ridiculously satisfying. Id go so far as to say this is the finest standard IPA brewed in Oz at the moment. This is my third Fox Hat and all of them have been truly excellent. That this apparently comes from the mob responsible for the insipid McLaren Vale brews is surprising, as this Fox Hat stuff is top flight.

Can. Hazy amber with a large white head. Aroma of bitter oranges, pine, bread, toffee or maybe a little butterscotch. Much more assertive in taste with herbal and spice notes joining with mainly pine to finish what is mostly plainly bready malt with rather strong bitterness. Not sure that it offers quite enough for its strength, but has more straightforward grunt than other VALE beers.
