This dark brown to black beer is packed with aromas of chocolate cake, cocoa, coffee, some butter and dried fruits. Flavor is sweet-based with notes of roasted malt, dark chocolate, lightly bitter coffee, and a savory touch. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle from Biernavigatie, BB 03/09/25, large sample. Dark color, medium frothy head. Aroma of sausage, ham, smokey, bread, bit tar, ashes, extreme dark chocolate. Taste has more creamy chocolate,, together with ashy smoke, some alcohol. Weird, I didnt expect this at all. After a while, the dark cocoa comes through a bit more. Bit dry and alcoholic in the finish. It has some good points, but is also quite unbalanced. Cant call this really good.

Tap at Mikkeller Bangkok. Poured a dark brown colour with a frothy dark tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, coffee chocolate. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich slightly oily, roast malt, oatmeal, light fruit, alcoholic palate. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Pours deep black color with thick brown head. Aromas of roasted malt and cocoa with a strong honey smell. Sweet cocoa and honey flavor with slightly bitter and ashy roasted malt. Full body with minimal carbonation and a thick, chewy mouthfeel. Excellent.

33 cl bottle @ home, no BBE info
Aroma has total overdose of chocolate essences. Flavour has chocolate essences, raw chocolate, cocoa and mild licorice tones. Finishes with alcohol kick. Very stuffy and difficult to drink

Pours pitch black with a tiny head. Aroma has massive amounts of cocoa, really dark raw chocolate and roasty malts, a bit artificial notes. Taste is heavy, slightly roasty and heavy with cocoa and dark chocolate notes. Finish is smooth and sweetish with loads of cocoa and heavy dark chocolate notes. Quite heavy, but pretty tasty and balanced slow sipper.

Tasting at Mr Smithβs Skyflat. Thanks to Dan. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small dark tan head. Palate is light and pretty dry. A weird chemical like bitter streaked dark chocolate. Concentrated espresso. Harsh roast bitterness. Dry finish. Bitter linger. Fuck me what a mess, horribly dry, skewed and bitter with no relief in any quarter. Awful.

33cl bottle pours a hazy black with some ringing, tan head. Nose has chocolate malt balls, mild vanilla, some smoke. Flavor is salty, chocolate, smoke, malt, toast, molasses. Finishes salty. A little strange.
