Аромат очень приятный, сладкий. много пористого и немного пряного шоколада с ванилью. Цвет темный, без просветов, пенка кремовая, липкая. Вкус питкий, ощущается много солода, оттенки кофейных зерен, ну и конечно шоколада. При глотке легкая кислинка, затем появляется легкая горчинка хмелевая, она кстати весьма продолжительная. Все это дело покрыто лактозой и ванилью, но не приторно. В целом просто супер стаут, может слегка много горчинки и кислинки кофейной в конце, а так классная неожиданость.

Cask at Bird in Hand, Stafford. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small foamy cream head. There’s oodles of chocolate in the aroma with hints of coffee and caramel. More chocolate in the mouth, along with malts, cocoa, honey and traces of ginger. Chocolate lasts into the finish which is slightly bitter. This is rather nice.

Tap. Almost black color. Aroma: a lot of chocolate, sweetish, caramel, chocolate essence, muffins. Taste: sweetish, chocolate, slightly watery, caramel, slightly sour, slightly earthy bitterness, not bad.

Appearance: opaque deep brown with a two finger tall beige head of decent retention. Aroma: nice chocolate & cocoa, dark malts, roast, distant esters. Taste: dryish. Toast & roast, chocolate & cocoa, floral hop. Hoppy ending. Mouth feel: light body. Soft carbonation. Summary: a bomb in terms of aroma & taste. Lacking body.

Creamy beige head left a froth on a still black body. Chocolate, cocoa & pastry aroma. Medium bodied, creamy & lightly carbonated on the back. Rich chocolate, pastry, syrup & blueberry tastes with a tangy citrussy finish. Very classy.
