Desert Prickly Pear Cactus Catalog blends Imperial Stout aged 3 years in Blanton's Bourbon barrels, Imperial Stout and Ryewine aged 2 years in Buzzards Roost Rye Barrels, Barleywine aged over 3 years in Blanton's Bourbon barrels, and fresh Imperial Stout. Blending extensively aged decadent stout and barleywine with smaller amounts of a younger ryewine brings rich flavors of sweet toffee and dark chocolate. Transitioning on the palate to flavors of hot fudge sundae and Luxardo cherries balanced by an inviting bourbon finish.

Pint can pours with a dark mahogany to chocolate colored body that supports a thin off white head of foam. The aroma offers up chocolate blending with well integrated and smooth bourbon and toffee and a bit of coconut. The taste delivers similar notes as everything is well integrated and slightly difficult to distinguish. I get chocolate and bourbon as well as a soft thin sherry sensation. To midway I get additional notes of toffee, coconut and a dash of marshmallow. This begins a little thin and hint at it being crushable. That doesn't last as the richness and deep really ramps up creating a try enjoyable sipper.
