Poesiat & Kater’s Van Vollenhoven Extra Stout is based on a recipe from the original Van Vollenhoven brewery that existed in Amsterdam during the 18th century. It has a rich full malt body with roasted flavor notes. This was the top selling beer in the Netherlands in the second half of the 19th century and was shipped all over the world.

Draft at In De Wildeman. Black with a big tan head. Aroma of roast, dark chocolate, caramel, dark malt and light coffee. Flavour is above moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
