Cask from Head of Steam, Birmingham. Pours black, with nice consistent beige head. Very roasty and dusty in aroma. Toasty, citrus zest, berries, coffee; decent flavour. A little light bodied but overall a decent porter.

Third, hand-pulled cask ale at Bull Baiters Inn, Worcester. A filmy layer blanketing the glass. Coal black in the glass. Promising aroma of dark fruit and chocolate malts. Fine mix taste of raisin, dark berries and chocolate. Slightly roasted malt-fruity finish. Medium bodied. Tasty. (09.07.2018).

Cask at the joint stock.a jet black coloured pour with a a lasting tan head. Aroma is, black malts, liquorice, piney hop. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty malts, toasted roast, liquorice, piney hop, blackened sugars, oily, lowish carbonation, sticky. Lingering roast.

Cask at the Head of Steam, Bingoham, pre CCIV 23/06/18. Black with a well presented tan cap. Nose is dark malts, roasted tones, earthy hops, dried fruit rinds. Taste comprises cocoa powder, toffee, light charr, roast malts, dates, raisins. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close sprinkled with earthy hop bitterness. Decent hoppy porter ... comes over almost CDA like.

Cask at the Brewhouse, Lye. Pours black with a large head. Aroma is beefy coffee and chocolate. Taste is beefy coffee to start and a vanilla, coffee and liquorice finish. Chocolate aftertaste.

Tap at the Head of Steam, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a lasting frothy off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, charcoal coffee. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter with a light caramel malt, light dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at the Head of Steam - Birmingham. Pours black-brown with a dense, creamy white head. Some tangy dark malts in the nose. Light sweet flavour, some ashy roast, raisins, cocoa. Light bodied, with fine carbonation and velvety entire. Finishes with mellow ashy roast. Decent.
