Super deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall lighter brown head that covers the top ever so slightly, above the 90 per cent opaque brown body. Aroma of vanilla, lactose, earth, roasted malts, oatmeal, grain, light figs, nuts, earth and a lot of molasses and brown sugars - very nice on the nose with some bitterness of course, noticeable. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich malty flavours dominate with a ton of vanilla, earth, figs and pitted fruits with creamy lactose right behind and a big hit of oatmeal and nuts that provide some bitterness and depth, but still show some sweetness, with the pitted fruits and vanilla much stronger. Overall, a very nice, well-rounded, robust and earthy beer while still showing a lot of character from the oatmeal and grain, but the sweetness and vanilla notes make this good throughout with some light oaky quality with some pungency towards the end, but this has definitely mellowed out in the five years since bottling! I sampled this 65 cL bottle, purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Williamsburg), Florida on 29-December-2022 for US$13,99 sampled a day later here in my hotel room here on 30-December-2022 with my wife and three kids, nearly 5 years after purchase.
