12oz can from Tavour. Dark brown pour, filmy head, beige ring. Aroma is sweet, pit fruit, raisins. Taste amps up the aroma, sweet, prunes, molasses, earthy, woody and plenty of heat. Belgian yeast dances around the edge, fruity, candy sugar. Sweet finish with lingering warmth.

Mini-can from Tavour. Pours clear brown with a decent tan head. Aroma of kandi and yeast/spice. Full bodied. Not dry, but not sticky. Flavor is kandi, bananas, yeast/spice and darkish toffee. Excellent flavor.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Strong dried fruit aroma with plum, candy sugar, malt, brown malt, notes of stewed red fruits, marzipan, caramel. Sweet with a mild bitterness. Medium body. Pretty complex and rounded Quad, sweet with lots of candy sugar and dried (red) fruits. Solid.

Brown with thin head. Aroma and flavour have loads of sweet dried fruits and caramelised apples. Also brioche rich sweetness. Maybe a touch too sweet but very self indulgent.

Sample at the Hoppin’ Frog Tasting Room. Dark brown pour with some mahogany around the edges, and a medium light beige head that recedes steadily to a film. Small patches of lace. Aroma of malt, ripe fruit and yeast. Full-bodied with flavors of caramel malt, dried fruits, earthy yeast and a touch of hops. The finish is fruity with a Belgian yeast aftertaste. Pretty good beer overall.
