Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice, relatively thick three to four centimetre tall almost pure white head on top that fades fairly slowly, but still leaves a small off-white lace on the sides of the glass. Aroma of deep roasted malt with some coffee and light earthiness, but a ton of nuttiness showing hazelnuts and a lot of lightly roasted, brewed coffee. Medium-bodied; Strong rich deep malts dominate with a lot of caramelised sugar and toffee notes everywhere, with a slight pungent bitterness from the chocolate and earthiness with a slight metallic twang and robust creaminess from the malts and light lactose throughout this in entirety. Aftertaste shows the deep bitterness and grainy notes with a lot of malt and caramelised sugars here and a light dose of other, more subdued fruit notes, but the pungency is relatively strong, however the coffee and nutty flavours dominate throughout with thi sone. Overall, a nice and relatively strong beer with a good nutty and earthy flavour that can be used regularly when there is no shopping to be done here. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from the Crystal City Wine Shop in Arlington, Virginia on 03-April-2020 for US$2,96 sampled at my house here in Washington on 13-June-2020.

Pint can, WW. Hazy dark brown with a soft beige head. Roasted malt, light floral notes, hint of smoke in the nose. Roasted malt, light smoke, brown leaf, light fruit, hint of floral hops. Really nice.
