Dark brown coloured body with a hint of a light opacity, showing perhaps about 20 per cent, with the majority being clear, all again, with no real head - this time a sliver of an off-white glow. Aroma of roasted malts, light coffee and caramelised sugars and that's about it. Light to Medium-bodied; Very strong malty notes dominate at first and then give way to an almost bready yeast quality with some nuts to add to the texture and body of this and a little dose of hops as well along with a nice hint of coffee towards the end, but no chocolate or complete roastiness in this one. Aftertaste is clean, but slightly malty along with a good hit of caramelised sugars as well. Overall, a decent beer, in the top half of the beers here, but not something to be proud of. I sampled this four ounce pour on draught, as part of the full nine-beer lineup sampling, from the brewpub/brewery in Rapid City, South Dakota, just hours after landing in the state [for the first time, ever] on 25-June-2020 for US$12,25 (for all nine beers!).
