Beautiful, perfectly clear brown coloured body with a nice, microfoamed two centimetre tall tan or even light brown coloured body that fades to just a sliver, but still looks nice! Aroma of roasted coffee, hazelnuts, earth, dirt, chocolate and a touch of peat and malt. Medium-bodied; Rich chocolate and roasty malt notes show at first with some deep earthiness, a light caramelised sugar and grainy flavour with a touch of brewed coffee and smoked peat, but the real strong flavour here is the hazelnuts, which are pungent. Aftertaste is crisp and deep, but showing only the peat, earth, caramel and nutty flavours without the chocolate or coffee at all! Overall, a pretty nice beer despite the 'best' flavours aren't noticeable at the end - there is a lot of nuts and sugars and this of course, tastes much more of a brown ale (nut) than a blonde. Nice to try, but don't expect too much - or just rate this as a brown, as that's really what this is - no blonde here at all! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 05-June-2020 for US$3,86 sampled at my house here in Washington on 20-June-2020.
