Deep dark brown coloured body with a very thin, super-fast-dying, soda-like light brown, large-bubbled head. Aroma of nuts, pecans, caramelised sugars, roasted malt, toasted grain, a dash of metal and alcohol with some faint notes of fudge and chocolate. Medium-bodied; Deep robust roasted malt flavours dominate with tons of nuts, earth, grain, metal and some astringent flavours, with a little fig and pitted fruit complexity towards the end. Aftertaste is nice, deep and largely malty, nutty, earthy and quite sweet. The deep pecan and caramelised sugar flavours dominate after a few seconds with a large earthy bite, showing a little bitterness from chocolate and a tiny bit of coffee noticeable as well. Overall, a nice and complex porter with tons of nutty, earthy and especially sweet caramelised sugar flavours throughout. Nice to sample and a good option for a nutty and earthy porter with a great balance, but also very nice complexity! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Crystal City Wine Shop in Arlington, Virginia on 18-October-2019 for US$3,15 sampled at home in Washington, just two days later on 20-October-2019.

$3.25 Pint can, WW. Hazy brown with an inch of tan head. Caramel candy, chocolate, cola, cream... somewhat artificial nose. Flavor is candied chocolate, caramel, brown leaf. A bit on the artificial or at least cheap side.
