Stout has met its match. We love coconut for its complexity - milk, toast, caramel and even subtle earthy notes from its meat. This beer has soft coconut aroma, creamy mouthfeel, and savory undertones that play well with notes of roasted coffee.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish tan head that only barely coats the top of the beer with nothing else coming through - relatively still throughout. Aroma of roasted malt, coconut, light caramel, a touch of lactose and very little else, but perhaps no coconuts at all - this is fairly mild throughout with the roast really coming through and some light bitterness and perhaps the faintest dose of coffee or vanilla, but again, no coconuts. Light to perhaps Medium-bodied; Mild roasty and earthy malt notes dominate with some caramelised sugars, lactose, grain, oatmeal and nuts, but again - no real caramel or robust, full-bodied notes at all - this is thin and subdued throughout. Aftertaste shows some herbal and earthy malt notes with definite nuts and caramelised sugars, but no pungency nor coconut notes at all. Overall, a very mild offering where the body is the most disapointing feature, sadly, and not even the fact that no coconut (despite the name and picture are on the front of the can) is present in here or tastes/smells like it is. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Total Wine in Towson, Maryland on 27-May-2019 for US$2,49 sampled at home in Washington on 24-November-2019.
