Tap at the brewery taproom bermondsey. A dark brown black coloured pour with fading khaki head. Aroma is huge bretty funk, pineapple, drying, dry roast. Does not especially smell like a dark beer. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, bretty funk, earthy roast, burnt toast, lemon rind bitterness, mellow bretty funk, pineapple, lingering bitter dark roast, complex. Palate is semi sweet, drying finish, moderate carbonation. Good.

Keg at the Anspach Arch, Bermondsey, 31/01/2025.
Black topped with a lasting khaki cap.
Nose is dried fruit esters, cocoa powder, light dusty wood, liquorice, charr.
Taste comprises chocolate, bretty pangs, spice, dark malts, dates, prunes.
Medium bodied, fine massaging carbonation, drying close with a light funky nip.
Solid drop.
