Rich, malty, slightly smokey with notes of vanilla and oak. The vanilla and oak character came from the hop we used an experimental variety called HBC 472. That hop is super unique and lends an amazing flavor to darker malty styles like this.

16oz can from Tavour. Dark brown pour, wispy beige head, thin ring. Smoky, peaty, malty aroma. Taste is malty, light sweetness, peat, raisins, earthy. Faint bitterness lingers

Pours dark mahogany-tinged brown into a thistle. Tan head with good retention recedes to caot surface. Dark pit fruit and roasted pumpernickel aromas. Thick and sweet with dark molasses, pit fruit, and raisin brown bread upfront turning to roasted caramel in the medium length finish. A tad too sweet.
