Polotmavý, which quite literally means “half dark,” is a Czech-style amber lager that perfectly captures the two twilight times of day—just before dawn and just after dusk—when the sky is partially lit by the sun, or “half dark.” Brewed with a blend of floor-malted Bohemian Pilsner and dark malt, this beer finishes with a beautiful amber hue.

Tall boy from the brewery, pours chestnut brown clear. Medium bodied. Toasted malts aroma, and peppery caramel malt balance with hops. Nice spicy finish.

Brewery draught, 4/10/25.
Dark copper. Clear. Big, beige head, lower retention.
Moderate toast with light caramel and peppery hops on the side. Clean, biscuity, toasty, dry. Could use a bit more softness from base malt.
Very malty in the mouth, though. With bread and toast, pepper and herbs. Balanced, malty, spicy, hoppy. The hops are particularly well-done here.
