Super hazy copper and muddied bronze coloured body with a thin, single centimetre tall tan head that looks a little bit velvety. Aroma of corn flakes, cereal, grain, rice, malted barley, a touch of lactose ane cream, but seemingly no hops - odd! Medium-bodied; Rich cereal flavours show at first and leaves some pungency and bitterness and a touch of sweetness is here from the lactose, but ending with the deep pungency, grain and maltiness noticeable here. Aftertaste shows the deep funky malts along with the first dose of hops here with a slight floral bitterness, a little bit of alpha acids here and a subdued sweetness hits at the end and provides a bit of complexity and balance. Overall, a decent enough beer, but not really a New England IPA at all - it's an unfiltered APA or even an unfiltered Light IPA and not very nice at that either. I understand why this was 50 per cent off and if I didn't get that good deal I might have been upset, but good enough to try from North Carolina with that deal! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Cary (Crossroads Boulevard), North Carolina on 30-May-2021 for US$6,00/four pack, canned on 20-October-202 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 23-July-2021.
