Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7
Fairly cloudy and hazy golden, peach coloured body with a thinnish off-white head that fades quickly and leaves just about nothing to top, just a few seconds later. Aroma of super soured and tart fruit notes showing the fresh passionfruit along with some guava, papaya and pineapple with a crisp malt punch and a dry character at the end. Medium-bodied; Strong pineapple and especially passionfruit flavours dominate here with a ton of sour and tart elements that especially hit towards the end with a literal puckering quality that comes through, and leaves the palate refreshed and soured. Aftertaste shows a lot of ther tropical notes of course with a bunch of sweetness and a good crisp tartness that balances the fruit, malt and sweetness nicely here. Overall, a very enjoyable and crisp, super soured and ultra-tropical beer with a lot of tart flavours, but more from the fruity side, but very nice overall and great to sample, especially super fresh, even when it's chilly outside! I sampled this twelve ounce pour on draught at 49th State Brewery here in [downtown] Anchorage, Alaska on 05-October-2021 for US$7,00 sampled while here in Alaska for the day, after being here with my family on vacation a few months ago.
