Fairly hazy copper and raw honey coloured body with a very large, four to five centimetre tall, soapy and frothy off-white microfoamed head that ends up looking very nice. Aroma of bright grassy and citrusey hops with some Sauvignon Blanc-like scents and breadie yeast with a soft sweetness and light fruity candy-like scent. Medium to Full-bodied; Very deep and pungent yeast (kveik) and dry floral qualities dominate at first with some specialty-grain type flavours and some odd soft fruits that show apricots, plums and stone fruits, with a herbal and very perfumey characteristic at the end that ends dry as well. Aftertaste is clean, fairly complex and robust throughout, considering the malts are deep and varied, the hops show multiple aspects and of course - the yeast is deep, unique and full-of-flavours. Overall, a pretty nice deep and dry IPA that is about what you'd expect and a good example of this micro-style. Good to sample this locally brewed Kveik - not a bad option if you want to try this micro-style locally here and can find this! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Ballston (Arlington), Virginia on 26-Febraury-2021 for US$4,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 21-May-2021.
