Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7.5
Ridiculously hazy and chunky peach, guava and pure orange coloured body with a nice two to three centimetre tall, fairly soapy tan head that covers the ninety per cent opaque body. Aroma of tropical fruits - pineapple, guava and melons are noticeable with a big sweetness and malt presence in the nose, but not any real alcohol or pungency - nice! Medium to Full-bodied; Deep malty and rich biscuity and wheatie malts dominate, but the fruits and mellow grain come through closer to the end, with the hops finally cutting through and leaving a nice bitterness at the end, after the fruit flavours come through. Aftertaste is pretty balanced as well, with some smooth malts, a good deal of tropical fruits with some plentiful sweetness and a slight pungent and medicinal, full-flavoured finish with alcohol noticeable, but not nearly 8,5 per cent. Overall, a very nice, full-flavoured, complex and robust beer that hits the tropical fruit flavours nicely and gives a subtle pungency and astringency at the end - with the nicely balanced malt and hops. Good to try fresh from Southern Florida, but back up North! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 13-February-2021 for US$5,22 sampled at my house here in Washington on 10-May-2021.
Solid IPA boi
