Hazy orange coloured body with a very thin, off-white head, only one centimetre tall at first that leaves a very subtle lace on the sides. Aroma of citrus fruits, candy, strong biscuity malts with a hint of wheat and a slightly dry, herbal scent with a dose of artificial sugars in the nose and some alcohol as well. Medium to perhaps Full-ish bodied; Rich malty and syrupy sweet flavours show at first with a strong hop character and a mellow bitterness, but deep and rich malts and a biting citrus component that brings out some complexities. Aftertaste shows the great balance of malt and hops with a ton of citrusey, resinous and perfumey notes with some metallic and astringent qualities from the hops and alcohol, but enough sugars to make those fleeting. Overall, a nicely structured Imperial IPA with a great body and rich malt and syrupy note that make this enjoyable, especially near the end of the chilly days here - good to try ultra-fresh and local! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Total Wine in Gainesville, Virginia on 06-March-2021 for US$5,49, canned on 15-January-2021, sampled at my house here in Washington on 15-March-2021.
