Inspired by a badito de guava, Guava Pastelito was designed to be creamy and full-bodied with a lingering guava finish. 250 lbs of guava gives this beer huge aroma with notes of stone fruit from the hops. Guava pastelitos were harmed in the making of this beer.

Chunky, deep copper and slight pink coloured body with an orange and bronzed glow, all with noticeable chunks and floaters here, all under a small two to three centimetre tall tan head that leaves an ugly lace on top, with specs of pink on the sides. Aroma of guava, pure and simple, with a bunch of leftover sugars, malt, honey, hay, flowers and some soft alcohol towards the end, but this still is all about the fruit. Medium-bodied; Strong peach, apricot, papaya, melon and yes, guava notes dominate here with way more fruits than hops and no real bitterness at all, and only a slight underlying malt backbone that shows wheat and very mild flavours, all with the sweetness on the end hitting hardest. Aftertaste is dry, super floral, a touch grassy with some herbal complexities, but this is all about the fruits and while there isn't any bitterness here, this shows much more of a fruit beer than any IPA with fruit added. Overall, great to try as I love guava, and while this is great, this really isn't an IPA, but rather a fruit beer, in a good way! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 13-February-2021 for US$5,22, canned on 16-November-2020 'Drink Your Pastry', sampled at my house here in Washington on 20-February-2021.
