STORY:
At the treeline’s edge, shadows abound.
You catch a glimmer of clarity as the sunlight fades. Your hand trembles as you raise the pint to your lips and take a huge gulp. It all comes into focus—it’s good. Phew. It’s really, really good.
INGREDIENT SPOTLIGHT:
Lotus hops from Hopsteiner provide a unique combination of orange and vanilla flavors.
TASTING NOTES:
Bright and potent flavors of orange, melon, and tropical character lead the way with undertones of vanilla. Extremely soft and pillowy texture with a short finish and very low bitterness.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: bright yellow cloudiness with a two and a half fingers of white foamy head which dissipated at a nice pace and allowed some light lace
Aroma: light citrus hoppiness; some clean bready malts
Flavor: blends the citrusy hops to the malts fairly nicely; lean aftertaste of the citrusy hops
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; nice low carb, some smoothness along tongue; finishes brisk and citrusy
Overall: nice enough NEIPA, maybe again.

Draught @ The Hoptimist, Manhattan (Mar 2024). Pours faintly cloudy dark yellow with a very small frothy off-white head that leaves a ring, citrus aroma, adequate carbonation, mildly bitter orangey taste with faint vanilla flavor, thin body, long orange-vanilla finish. Interesting flavors.
