Deep dark brown coloured body with a cola-like glow and a ruby glow, all with a nice, deep two to three centimetre tall tan head that fades quickly and leaves just about nothing on top. Aroma of toasted malt, light pine, some orange and lemon scents and a dash of hops. Light to Medium-bodied; Deep malty and rich nutty flavours dominate here with the toasted notes, a lot of pitted fruit and some caramelised sugar shows right behind, with a light dose of toffee and some nuttiness on the finish. Aftertaste shows the toasted grain, a lot of pitted fruits and some noticeable sweetness along with a dry herbal bite towards the end, but the balance of malt and hops is just about right here. Overall, a nice and rich, nutty, yet floral and hoppy beer with more malts than hops, but robust and slightly bitter from the alpha acids, but more sweet and way more malty - with the nutty and earthiness coming through throughout. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Union Creek Resort in Crater Lake, Oregon on 30-March-2021 for US$2,10 sampled in my hotel room here in Arcata, California on 31-March-2021.
