Coffee Porter collaboration with Water Avenue Coffee and Montavilla’s Bipartisan Café. Whole, green coffee beans are aged in Pinot Noir (or Cabernet Sauvignon for 2021) wine barrels, then roasted, ground and cold brewed. The cold brewed coffee is then blended with our Robust Porter that exhibits flavors of baker's chocolate, ripe red grapes, spice, figs, coffee and subtle oak.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a rich two to three centimetre tall light brown head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma of bright coffee with some floral elements, but a mainly roasted malt flavour with some oatmeal and caramelised sugars with a dose of nuts and earth and finishing with some subtle notes of fruit - perhaps the pinot barrels, but I feel like its more blueberry or marionberries. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich roasted malt notes dominate with some vanilla and earth, but more of the lightly brewed coffee flavours and a touch of hazlenuts and grain. Aftertaste shows a good balance of sweetness and malts without any real bitterness or pungency, with some coffee and vanilla coming through as well with a dose of soft sugars at the very end. Overall, a pretty nice and mild porter with good cofffee flavours along with some subtle nuts and earthiness - great to sample, especially very fresh and still here in Oregon! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 28-March-2021 for US$4,49, canned on 14-December-2020, sampled in my hotel room here in Bend, Oregon on 28-March-2021, a few hours later.
