Very hazy golden and straw yellow coloured body with a very thick bubbled off-white head of a single centimetre tall that is very ugly and leaves nothing at all, looking more like soda on top and orange juice down below, than beer. Aroma of astringent metallic and grassy notes, with a lot of citrus here as well and some wheat/malts, but the alcohol is very strong in the nose - perhaps the strongest scent here. Full-bodied; Very rich wheatie and robust astringent malty notes show at first with a strong bitter and pungent alcohol warmth, with a light citrus and fruity flavour, but not much residual sugars here at all, with a dry finish and warmth from the alcohol are the big players here. Aftertaste is crisp, very strong, robust and not too enjoyable, especially for the style, with a lot of alcohol, metallic and astringency here and less of the hops, bitterness, fruit, sweetness or complexity you'd expect from an IPA. Overall, one of my least favourite beers from Tripping Animals - too strong and astringent with the alcohol and malt too pungent without enough nuances here. Good to try fresh, but I wish I brought a different can home with me from Florida! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 30-April-2022 for US$6,49, canned on 17-February-2022 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 30-May-2022.
