Darker brown than the Imposter Scot, but with a similar thin and very mild head that shows just deeper than tan and fades quickly. Aroma of deeper coffee and earthiness, but the nuts, grain and chocolate are back with some more pungent bitterness at the end. Light to Medium-bodied; Relatively strong coffee and earthiness noticeable up front with a lot of bitterness and pungency with some coffee here as well and some lighter malts, but the coffee is strongest by far, which is by design here. Aftertaste shows some of the grainy notes as well as a light dose of sweetness from the nuts and chocolate, but the coffee and light yeastie qualities come through the edges here. Overall, a decent and more inspired beer than the Imposter Scot with some actual coffee notes as well as the grainy and complex nuttiness here with a pretty good balance, but still on the thin side considering the style. Nice to try, but perhaps there are others better here to try than this. I sampled this pour on draught at Saugatuck Brewing Company in Saugatuck, Michigan with my one daughter when she wasn't even three yet, sampled on 10-September-2015.
