daamn!

Very nice, ever so slightly hazy golden coloured body with a pretty large, four to five centimetre tall pure white head that caps the beer nicely and fades pretty quickly, but leaves a soft layer on top, around two centimetres after a few seconds. Aroma of lightly smoked malts with some lighter biscuity and herbal elements, a dash of soft hops from Europe somewhere (with low alpha acids) and a dry floral finish with no real sweetness noticeable here at all and some yeast on the tail end. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong grassy and floral notes dominate with a very strong smokey and meaty flavour with some bigger mushroomy and umami flavours coming out, but the smoked grainy notes still are strongest, with a light dash of flowers and hay towards the end. Aftertaste shows some light sweetness from caramelised sugars and toffee with a herbal and floral bite along with a slight earthy bite and a good smoked element from the malts here. Overall, a pretty enjoyable beer with a good lightly smoked quality of peat and especially beechwood with a dry character and a smooth finish at the end, but enough complexity and depth, especially for a lager, to be thoroughly enjoyable. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 18-cember-2021 for US$3,59 sampled at my house here in Washington on 23-January-2023.
