Pretty hazy deep copper and bronze coloured body with a noticeable, single centimetre tall off-white head that stays as a think, funky layer on top after a few minutes. Aroma of soured and funky apple notes (not quite like a cider, though) with some additional sugars in the form of caramel, toffee and lemon juice with a light kick of yeast and bread noticeable towards the end. Medium-bodied; Assertive wheatie and biscuity malts show at first, but the soured and funky apple and bretty flavours come through right away with a great level of sweetness and a rich caramel and brown sugar note to couple with the more assertive fructose from the apples, but the soured aspects are the strongest, making this tart, with some additional lemons it seems. Aftertaste shows the light malts, but this really is all about the fruit, with the apples, lemons and even limes noticeable here with a good layer of subdued (but noticeable) malts, but the yeast, bread and yeast all factor in to this, in a great way. Overall, very nice to sample and well-recommended, if you can find it - I'll look for more from this brewery when I'm in South Carolina next! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Lowe's Foods in Pawley's Island, South Carolina on 01-January-2022 for US$3,99, canned on 29-September-2021 and sampled at my house here in Washington on Day #19 of my [self-created] 2022 Advent Calendar, but on 23-December-2022 (I'm a few days behind).
