Coming in HOT for the 2025 Black Heart variations, Black HEAT is here to test your limits. We took our rebellious Black Heart dry Irish stout, brewed it at Waterloo, and cranked it up to 6% ABV. Then, we threw in chipotle flakes and powder for a deep, smoky hit and a slow-burning chilli kick that just keeps on building.

Crowler from Dogtap Ellon. It pours pretty much black with a handsome tan head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, charred, bitter - sweet, spicy, bonfire smoke, warming chilli pepper, dark chocolate, toasted marshmallow and vanilla cake frosting. The taste is dry, dark roasted malt, bitter - sweet, charred vibes, bonfire, warming chilli pepper, peppery spice, dark chocolate, cacao nibs, mexican hot chocolate, pleasing level of spice and a just a touch of alcohol presence. Finish is lingering chilli spice. Medium body and moderate carbonation. This works well in my opinion. They have hit a good level of spice which lingers but is not over the top.

Keg at Brewdog Doghouse, Edinburgh. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of coffee and dark chocolate. Taste brings the chilli heat, but it's nicely done, not over-powering. Spicy and roasty linger.
