Crisp and ever so slightly hazy amber and almost deep brown coloured body, all with a thinnish, single centimetre tall tan head that fades on the quick side. Aroma of nuts, toffee, caramelised sugatrs, a dash of apples and pears with a little bit of spices and a touch of hay at the end. Medium-bodied; Spicey flavour at first with a lot more caramelised sugar flavours and a dash of grain towards the end along with a touch of hay and a good nutty finish with a healthy hand of earthy malts as well. Aftertaste shows a good balance of the spices and the malts with a lot of sugars and almost no hop flavours at all, which is okay. Overall, a nice and polished vienna that has a decidedly spicey and nutty profile that is crisp and enjoyable even without any real hop flavours throughout, but the sugars and light fruity flavours provide the good balance. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Lidl in Manassas, Virginia on 14-June-2018 for US$5,19/six pack, sampled as 'Brewers Storehouse No 03 Amber Ale' sampled at home in Washington on 11-September-2019 to sample as an All-American beer on the eighteen year anniversary of a not-so-good day.
