Ridiculously hazy deep purple, indigo and ruby tinted body with a fairly large, three centimetre tall pink and purple head - crazy, but those blackberries have a strong natural colour - this is about 95% opaque throughout. Aroma of blackberries (of course), light grass and hay, some subdued lemons and citrus and a touch of light sugars and alcohol - but this is really all about the fruit. Light-bodied; Strong very blackberry-y flavour with a good dry malt and grassy bite soon afterwards with a dash of citrus, caster sugar, along with a touch of very subtle herbs and floral notes - akin to an actual blackberry, fresh from the bush. Aftertaste shows a soft and mellow bite from the citrus and tart notes of the blackberries, but a very dry and grassy note that supports the saison side of the beer - very well balanced and super easy-drinking, while full of flavour. Overall, a good beer - true to the name (Blackberry Saison) and styles with the fruit, really standing out, but the dryness still omni-present...great to try! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 23-June-2019 for US$2,29 sampled at home in Washington on 30-August-2019.
