What happens when you combine an unusual IPA malt from the East Coast of Ireland with Amarillo, Simcoe, and Citra hops? You get a rare Double IPA, drenched with the flavors and aromas of nectarines, tangerine, and pine. New IPAs are common, but true adventurers can lead to something Few & Far between.

Quite hazy copper and bronze coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of grass, resin, pine, a lot of fresh hops with a succinct and strong malt bite right afterwards, along with a touch of alcohol and grain near the end. Medium-bodied; Strong piney and very grassy hop flavours at first with a herbal maltiness soon afterwards, along with a touch of alcohol, some syrup and resinous notes and a lingering sweetness near the tail end. Aftertaste shows the grassy and herbal flavours throughout with a light alcohol warmth along with a very dry and slightly yeastie bite right at the end. Overall, a pretty nice Imperial IPA that just borders on being a plain IPA, all with some fresh hops, a good malt balance and a definite grass and herbal bite throughout. Nice to sample, and while it wasn't an Imperial IPA trying to find, a nice one to have, if you already have it or see it in front of you right now! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-September-2018 for US$3,19 sampled at my house here in Washington on 08-January-2019.
