This is where it all began... a garage in New Zealand, some local hops, a small cobbled together kit and against all odds an icon was born. Those same hops, Nelson Sauvin and Motueka are still present and correct in this, our love letter to the land of the long white cloud. NZ hops are characterised by their delicate citrus, fruit and floral notes, particularly the gooseberry, peach and white wine flavours of Nelson Sauvin. To match this we use a light malt bill with a decent amount of oats and wheat to create texture and mouthfeel. It’s the sort of beer that will make you want to abscond to the shores of the South Island never to return.

A hazy, golden beer. A head is white and small. Aroma has lime and other citrusfruits, some tropical notes. Taste has citrusfruits, also some other fruitness. Medium bodied, low carbonation. Citrusfruity and too simple.

330mml bottle tasted at the Jeremiah´s Taproom (11/08/2016). Cloudy yellow colour with a small white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, floral hops and some wheat. Taste is citrical and floral because of the hops and the lemon peel. Refreshing taste and intense dry finish. Next one please!

1/3 pint at Duke’s Corner pours a clear gold with some creamy white head. Nose is ok, some grist and yeast at the start, some lemon, light grassy hop. Flavor is a little better, grass, straw, lemon, malt, honey. Crisp finish.

33cl bottle from Beer52.com. A pale amber pour with a fast fading white head; tropical fruit aroma; rather soapy in the mouth with some lime and grapefruit giving a citrus bitterness; followed by a rather sticky finish. Disappointed, the hops don’t stand out as they should.

33cl bottle. Clear golden with a very thin white head that dissipates quite quickly. Citrus, a bit of honey and bitterness hops. Light and refreshing.

Tried at the cardinals hat, Lincoln. Golden colour with a white head. Fruity and berry hop, with a slight sweetness. Ok but not great.

Tap@Ox184, Edinburgh (19/02/2016) - golden pour with white head. Tropical fruity aroma and taste, light yeasty notes, zesty with some nice mild citric fruity spice bite in there, good gear.
