This is where it all began... a garage in New Zealand, some local hops, a small cobbled together kit and against all odds an icon was born. Those same hops, Nelson Sauvin and Motueka are still present and correct in this, our love letter to the land of the long white cloud. NZ hops are characterised by their delicate citrus, fruit and floral notes, particularly the gooseberry, peach and white wine flavours of Nelson Sauvin. To match this we use a light malt bill with a decent amount of oats and wheat to create texture and mouthfeel. It’s the sort of beer that will make you want to abscond to the shores of the South Island never to return.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy straw colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is yeast, light citrus hop. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a big woody hop, light pepper spice palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Tap at Holyrood 9A. Hazy yellow with a thick white head. Aromas of tropical fruit and the orange end of citrus. Some bready malt. Taste has a light sweetness, and quite a high bitterness. Light body and a touch oily in the texture, but otherwise a very nice beer.

Bottle and can. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of Sauvignon Blanc, green mango and kiwi fruit. Flavour of grass, juicy tangerine, mango and a hint of green apple. Thin to medium body with an oily texture. Prickly fizz. A lovely easy drinking APA. Liquid hops.
