3 Ravens The Druid - Tap at Foresters Hall, Melbourne. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is sweet roasty malt, toffee caramel, fudgy, liqourice, sweet fruits, raisins, dark chocolate, Bazooka Joe and alcohol. Rather like a rich boozy Christmas pudding with some light fake sugary notes. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth rich malty boozy, sugary sweet fruit, light spice, alcoholic bitter palate. Full bodied with flat carbonation. Pretty excellent. A real winner from 3 Ravens and one of the best Aussie beers I've tasted.

From a 330ml bottle on 25/9/2015. Pours a cloudy amber with almost no head. The nose is a touch muted with some caramel and toffee, sweet fruit and bubblegum in the mix. The flavour is much bigger with lots of sweet banana, plum, and date, along big dollops of toffee, with some spice, oak and more bubblegum. There’s a touch of sharp vinous booze at the back, but its very dessert like, with more that a hint of muscat to it. The texture is syrupy and the carbonation average. Not overly complex and could be a bit better balanced, but a more than decent big sipper.

Pours brown with a very small fading head.Nose shows caramelized bananas, brown sugar, bready malt, golden syrup and sultanas along with a soft woody a vinuous character.Similar sweet flavours, almost cloying. Lots of brown sugar and golden syrup along side some booze and raisins.Moderately low carbonation, could be higher/creamier.

Bottle, 10C - maybe a little better as it warmed. Fairly dark brown with a good coat of beige head that fades to the rim. Aroma of dried banana, figs, raisins, bready/ toasted malt, some herbs. Initial banana hit dissipates a bit after a while (good for non banana-liker me). Fairly sweet, a little syrupy, intense dried fruit, sherry notes of course. Dries out a little at the end with gentle bitterness. No overt alcohol. Very good; powerful fruit flavours held together well without being cloying or boozy.
