An endless sea of black, Dark Matter is both hypnotising and disorientating.

Tanzanian coffee, Dutch cocoa, and Madagascan vanilla pod aromas float into the atmosphere before its gravitational pull steers glass to mouth. Connection is made, locked and air hatches sealed, providing safe passage between man and substance. The merging of lactose combines the coffee, chocolate and vanilla flavours into a smooth and rounded brew.

From a 330ml bottle on 21/8/2018. Pours a deep brown with a small head. The aroma features lots of chocolate, some caramel and a hint of vanilla. Cocoa dominates the flavour, along with chocolate, coffee, more caramel and vanilla, and some nutty and toasty notes. Finishes with a firm, bordering on assertive, slightly roasty bitterness which balances out the sweetness perfectly. Has a slightly creamy palate and moderate carbonation. This is really lovely stuff. A delicious dessert porter. I'll be going back for more...

Bottle. Black with a coat of tan head. Aroma of mocha, peanuts, vanilla. Smooth texture. Dominated by what are presumably additions of coffee, chocolate and vanilla with the dulling lactose deadening the palate. Singed peanut skins in a nagging bitter finish. Halfheartedly going after the GABS novelty cake in a bucket prize?

Tap at the Boilermaker House, Melbourne. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy short-lived tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, chocolate, liquorice, light vanilla, dry coffee, charcoal. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter with a dry, roasty, liqouice, burnt treacle, dry hop bitter palate and a lingering roasty finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
