Echigo Raspberry Chocolate Cake Stout 7% Dark black with rusty tan foam makes for a good looking beer. Strawberry jam aroma with dark caramel bread malt character. The taste is big raspberry up front then roasty dark malts with the chocolate in the aftertaste. I had a raspberry Kit Kat so decided to pair them. That works really well, the beer brings out a bright tangy raspberry from the Kit Kat which then accentuates dark chocolate notes in the beer. This is really quite nice. The Echigo stout is solid so I shouldn’t be surprised this is too. Now, I want to get another to try it hot.
