I have curry pretty often so not knowing anything beyond it’s a curry beer from Derailleur and it’s on sale I figured what the hell! Derailleur Curry Corry 5% Jalapeño Cardamom Sour Ale I was expecting this to suck especially when I saw it was a chili beer so I anticipated ultra spicy heat. Instead I got soft cardamom and floral fruity pepper notes that are somewhat coffee like. Taking a sip I felt like I was sucking on a lemon or lime!holy mouthpuckeribg sourness! However after that hefty dose of lime you get the lovely cardamom and mild jalapeño - the spice only gets accentuated by the curry but otherwise seemed lost in the sourness. I actually felt this paired really really well with curry and both benefitted. I’m bloody surprised as I was expecting this to be almost undrinkable. Instead, I’ve wolfed my way through both the beer and the curry!
