Tap (The Catfish, Melbourne). Dark amber colour with beige nice head. Dark fruits, hint of caramel in aroma. Malty, medium sweet with subtle note of vanilla behind. Full body, very smooth, really good balanced with completely hidden booze. Really nice.

Tap at Slow Beer, Fitzroy. Poured a clear chestnut brown with a big frothy light tan head. The aroma is rich caramel toffee fudge, alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth rich sweet malt, toffee alcohol woody liqourice alcohol bitter palate and a long alcoholic bitter finish. Superb already but this will improve with age.

Slightly hazy dark amber. Thick head. Rich hoppy, fruity notes with sweet, slightly caramelly malts. Has a nice, balanced, chewy barley wine character like a cross between Big Foot and the departed Young’s Old Nick.

Pours dark brown with ruby tints and a lasting head.Vinuous malty aroma. Lots of caramel alongside floral and piny hops, booze and oxidised port notes.Rich malty flavours too. Again theres lots of caramel and masses of piny hops.Nice syrupy body, could use a little more carbonation though. The alcohol seems a bit to bold.
