The problem with so many fruit beers is to me twofold. First what fruit flavors they have end up tasting too artificial. Secondly the fruit sweetness dominates so much that you can not taste the underlying beer. This beer succeeds in avoiding both of these pitfalls. Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a purplish caramel color with a small white head. There is a strong sweet berry aroma. The flavor is strong and fruity but not too sweet. The fruits taste very real. There is a nice underlying wheat beer flavor that is not overwhelmed by the sweet fruity elements. This beer works very well.
