Helldunkle Farbe, hellbeiger Schaum. Der Antrunk ist malzig-süßlich, im Hauptteil wird das Bier süßlicher, aber ziemlich flach-wässrig. Leicht hopfig-frisch. Im Nachgeschmack malzig-trocken. Leicht süßlich aber flach. Durchschnittlich. 10/12/10/10

On tap at Southwark Tavern Borough. Bizarre how I haven’t had this before. Clear dark brown colour lasting beige head. Malty aroma. Ok in mouth. Bit more brown malt. Ok if lacking interest and character. Fine

4th March 2014
Bright clear amber beer, small pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth with fine carbonation. Smooth light malt, very.light cream. Mellow treacle and well integrated ripe orange. Even a whisper of tropical fruits here. Smooth finish, pretty drinkable.

Rewelacyjny tradycyjny Dunkel prosto z Monachium. Ladna granatowa etykieta i piekny rubinowo czerwony kolor, a piana wielgachna i nie opada, mocno wystaje ponad granice szklanki. Smak slodowy, karmelowy, nuty chmieli aromatycznych, finisz wytrawny. Polecam

Half-litre in Maximilian’s, Berlin on 22 Feb 2013. Really enjoyed this: reddy-brown colouring with a good full head of off-white foam which tried to hang around for a while. Malty nose: woody, nutty, with caramel notes, earthy too. The taste was also malty: bready and biscuity, not overly sweet compared to some Dunkel brews. Body depth seemed deeper than most also. Coffee and chocolate hints arrive as the beer warms a little, not that I allowed the beer to warm much, I was drinking it too fast!
