(6/18/08) Draught at Paulaner’s im Spreebogen in Berlin. Dark brown but transparent when put in front of a light, with a medium beige creamy head. Aroma of toasted malt and some caramel notes. Sweetish malty flavor with some toastiness and some caramel. Medium-bodied. Not a great Dunkel but still nice.

Big beige head subsides slowly. Dark red barely translucent body with carbonation. Clean malty fruity aroma with papery wild berry notes and light roasty licorice. Harmonic and nice, but a bit faint. Sweet-dry earthy licorice taste with papery wild berry notes and a slightly perfumy character. Mouthfeel is clean, soft, and smooth. Mid-to-full body. Dry roasty licorice aftertaste with peppery wild berry notes. Very nice! (0.5l bottle, Rewe supermarket, München.)

The bottle looks really good, better than the other Paulaner-bottles. The beer in the glass also. Flavor very strong in the beginning, in the end much too malty - nasty!

50 cL bottle, as Paulaner hefe weissbier dunkel. Pours hazy brown with a dense white head. Mild malty and wheaty/fruity aroma. Classic wheat flavour swept in a nice bed of caramel malt flavours which take out most of the banana and bubblegum notes. Ends with a mild malt lingering flavour.
