This big double IPA strikes a harmonious balance of bold American hops and rich malt. Citrusy notes of grapefruit, orange blossom, and lime are accented by hints of nectarine and raspberry, blending seamlessly with resinous pine and dank cannabis. The layered hop profile is complemented by bready, slightly crusty malt, with only a subtle suggestion of the high alcohol content it boasts. Medium-light bodied with an assertive yet smooth lingering bitterness.

On tap at Ravenna, pours a clear pale copper blonde out a small white head. Aroma has a strange hop mixture, with allium, some woody hops, herbal notes, and biscuity malt. Flavour has a strange hop expression, with allium, herbal notes, and some dental floss. I like the hop varietals in here other than Citra, but the combined expression doesn’t work for me.

Pale gold and slight haze. Looks decent. Aroma goes in a somewhat onion direction but on the palate there's a solid amount of pale malt. Balanced character. Not bad, but could benefit from greater hop expression, especially bright aromatics, but honestly bitterness, too. This comes across as an okay IPA, rather than a a solid DIPA. Like, ok, you're the Kraken, you're a mid team in the best league in the world. Or you're the Sounders, a good team in the mid-league of the world. But do something to get noticed.
