Gower Power, like all of our ales is brewed using traditionally floor malted barley. To balance the powerful alcohol content, this beer is endowed with a good dollop of quality whole hops. The result is a warming, malt, fruity strong Welsh Ale.

Bottle from British Local Craft. Has an aroma which is sweet and fruity. P:ours the classic “bitter brown” with a small white head and some lacing. In the mouth the first sensation is sweet fruit like strawberry jam, followed swiftly by the hop content (fairly bitter) and the alcoholic strength shows its hand. Texture is fairly sticky as well. A bittersweet finish with yet more alcohol. This is a no-nonsense old school IPA with plenty of kick to it – nice !

Bottle from Daniel Tomlinson - thanks! Creamy white head stayed on a pale golden body. Fruity & faint citrus aroma. Medium bodied, creamy over the tongue with a cloying finish. Sweet citrus, peach, tangy fruit & bitter hoppy finish. Nice one!

Bottle from Coed Y Dinas, Welshpool. Slightly darker amber-orange with a small head. Gently fruity but with a good body, with its strength not really too obvious in its taste. Its fruitiness has a pleasant lightly stewed flavour.

Bottle from Tesco Express. Medium golden, burgeoning foamy head lasts a while. Sweet malty aroma. More malts in the taste, sharp bitter finish, with dryness.

500ml bottle from N.D. John Wines, shared with Finn. Firm white head, clingy lacing on the glass, close to clear warm golden body. Moderate aroma of mid-sweet malts and oily hops. Taste of toffee alongside a touch of citrus fruits. Mild leafy hop bitterness to the ending. Satisfying. (Hotel room, Swansea 01.10.2018).

Hazy pale amber colour, good frothy off-white head, half-way lasting, light lacing. Aroma toasted malts, grain, straw. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, grainy, earthy, some caramel. Malty sweetbitter aftertaste, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, kind of rough beer but okay.

Cask @ Salopian. Served a little too warm. Pours a deep dark brown, small off-white head. Aroma seems quite sweet. Taste presents a sweet malt character reminiscent of Thorntons toffee. Fairly dry finish with a light bitterness. Not bad.

Cask at the Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is grainy malt, woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light smooth, skunky malt, floral woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and a lingering bitter finish.

(Cask at Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival 2016) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had creamy toffee and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were creamy toffee, grass, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A good hoppy brew.
