Furphy is a new, refreshing ale that is Geelong born and brewed from 100% Victorian ingredients. The first sip is clean and crisp, with a subtle balance of fruit and malt to keep it interesting. The finish is smooth and pleasantly refreshing. Given our brewery used to be an old mill, it’s no surprise Furphy is an easy-drinking ale that’s perfect for a session of yarn spinning.

Our hops, malt and water in Furphy are all locally sourced. Because when you’re brewing a beer this clean, crisp and balanced, the ingredients have to be top notch.

Long before furphy meant tall stories, it meant storage tanks. Without the stainless steel fermentation tanks made by the Furphy family of Shepparton, we couldn’t build a brewery. This beer is our way of acknowledging their services to Victorian refreshment. As for how their name acquired its other meaning, that’s another story altogether.

Bottle. Some money has gone into the design here. Gold with a loose white head that doesn’t last long. Aroma is floral with lemon, apricot, hay. Light bodied. Sweet and quite fruity, low to moderate bitterness. Some pepper at the end too. Low key and old fashioned but good.
